LIGHTWEIGHT BOARDS DESIGNED FROM THE GROUND UP WITH THE LOWEST CARBON FOOTPRINT.
Developed by Jean Louis Colmas in 1984, the Wood technology became the hallmark of starboard construction in 1995. Wood Tech remains a favourite for riders who prefer more comfort, more control and the unique feel of an original Starboard. It's time to bring this technology back to reduce our carbon footprint. The deck is constructed from 0.6mm Australian Pine on 3m H100 PVC to ensure durability and comfort in a good weight ratio. The wood will be less visible this time and will be protected by a nice Plue colour giving a really nice effect. Let's go back to the starboard origin with class.
Features:
DESIGNED FROM THE GROUND
- Lightweight boards designed from the ground up with the lowest carbon footprint. Natural 0.6mm Australian Pine Wood covers the board's deck above PY, which is made from 30% recycled PVC, reducing overall stiffness and weight.
NATURE'S MIRACLE
- The wood technology introduced by starboard in 1995 weighed a kilo less than the best boards of the time. Today we are re-launching this technology with the 0.6mm Australian pine, but replacing PVC with a more environmentally friendly material made from the PY, which is made from 30% recycled PVC and offers extra rigidity. Crisp and responsive on the water, yet supple, comfortable and durable.
FLEX OPTIMIZATION
- Along the UltraKode & Kode's rails, we've added extra-lightweight unidirectional carbon strips to further stiffen the board between the rear foot and the mast rail.
SICOMIN BIO-RESIN - GREENPOXY 33
- We use Sicomin's GP33 plant-based bio-resin, which contains half the carbon of conventional petroleum-based epoxy while providing a clear, high-performance laminate with excellent UV resistance.
EPS CORE - 15.5 G/CM³ DENSITY
- Shear strength, fused and customised to each starboard-shape to minimise waste.
