Naish-Bars have a HUGE amount of depower. When you release the bar, your kite will fully depower - but the "throw" in the bar is very far away once you let go. The sliding stopper allows you to adjust the stopper to any length and thus ride one-handed or just let the kite fly over your head without your hands on the bar. Smaller riders can also depower the kite and adjust the stopper within arm's reach without overboarding.
If you get a strong gust or just need it, the bar can push the stopper up if you apply enough pressure
