Safety Tipps - Funtubing, Wakeboarding and Waterskiing
1. Flotationvest / Impactvest + Helmet
A normal Flotationvest will do but even better is an impactvest with enough flotation. An impactvest is different from a lifevest, as it has dedicated protection for your ribs. Furthermore an impactvest is a bit mor snug to your body so it doesnt ride up by itself. There are male and female shapes. There are impact-vests without and with flotation. We ofcourse advice beginners to use vests with flotation

We also advice the other boat passengers + the captain wears a Vest. This is safety when needing to help the rider.
2. Strains, sprains and fractions to the legs and lower back are most common injuries, so do some streching and or warming up
Also especcially for wake and waterski you should have at least an okay condition. These sports are an intense, sprint-like activity so try to emulate this with your cardio. Prepare by running or cycling.
3. Use a second person besides the driver as a spotter that checks the riders behind the boat
Agree on handsignals up-front for stopping (hand cuts throat), back to harbour (tap the top of your head with your flat hand), slowing down (thumbs down) or increasing speed (thumbs up).
4. Be a responsible driver
No alcolhol. Inspect the gear, take-off slow, know your surroundings, evaluate your riders (young, old, adult, children, beginner, sportibe) and act accordingly. Sunscreen and stay hydrated. Speed limits. Check your riders can swimm, before letting them in the water. Limit their downtime in the water (meaning not too long in the water after a crash, to avoid collision with other boat or body temperature too cold)
